The National Service Training Program (NSTP) department spearheaded the planting of 351 seedlings in the MCNP – ISAP Eco-Park at Quibal, Peñablanca on November 12, 2021 as part of the Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines and International School of Asia and the Pacific’s annual tree planting activity.
The seedlings composed of 99 Mahogany, 93 Bamboo, 85 Tamarind, and 74 Butterfly trees were planted last weekend by NSTP teachers, including some General Education teachers, MCNP Community Extension Services Coordinator, ISAP Community Focal Persons, and Human Resource Management Officer.
In a statement, NSTP Coordinator, Eleazarico Macalling emphasized the importance of tree planting activities
“Tree planting is a very important activity that must be encouraged and normalized. We get huge benefits from trees and considering the environmental concerns we have these days, we must never underestimate the power this program could bring”, said Mr. Macalling.
The planted seedlings came from the National Tobacco Authority.
This is the fifth tree planting activity of MCNP and ISAP since 2020, and the third time this year. The last being led by Community Extension Services Office together with the General Education Department.
